Nobody knows what the "superconscious mind" is in reality; whether it is a part of our brain that generates, processes and communicates information in a certain way, whether it is something outside of us (like the connection to an information field or an independent, objectively existing "something"), whether it is a construct of a certain, powerful "ego-state" or - interpreted in a deep-psychological way - a banal projection of an idea, a thought.

The "superconscious" is interpreted by some as a "higher power" (partly with or without religious references), but even in the Simpson Protocol SP-community itself there is no uniform definition of it and the beliefs, value systems and cultural imprints of the individual SP practitioners play a significant role in the interpretation of this term. Some also interpret it as a mediating agency between consciousness and the un(ter)conscious.

Interestingly, most of the hypnotherapists practising SP have observed the effect that - if one tries to grasp this concept particularly clearly, rationally and with words, to get a particularly precise idea of it (so that one can talk about it) - this intention seems to be counterproductive in the whole process and the efficiency of the sessions decreases.

Our superconscious mind knows everything.

Essentially, therefore, only something can be said about the properties of "super-consciousness", and nothing about its existence. These properties are nowhere explicitly mentioned in the SP, but implicitly the following properties of the SCM can be concluded from the protocol itself:

Characteristics of the SCM:

1. The SCM knows everything.
2. It can do everything.
3. Is independent of time and space.
4. It always acts in unconditional love for the highest good of the client.
5. It is a "transcendent instance" outside/above/beyond the client, with the possibility of being connected to the essence of creation/the "source".
